Hello,
I am Shubham Sharma, an independent filmmaker, and writer. I have gotten an unconditional offer to study for a postgraduate degree in Visual Anthropology Media and Documentary Practices from the prestigious University of Münster, Münster, Germany. I received my offer in July this year.
I hail from Amritsar, Punjab. And when I was young, my mother ran a beauty salon in our living room. A long shelf there, filled with colorful tools, was my playground. Hollow pens were my soldiers, combs their motorbikes, and everything else turned into a world where I will continue to create senseless stories for years. This, I believe, became the foundation for my approach towards filmmaking. That there will always be enough around me for me to tell the story etched in my head.

Officially Selected for Asian Film Festival LA Hollywood.
But it wasn't till my latest film, I realized what kind of films I want to make. Even Fake Flowers Have Scent on Happy Days touches the theme of migration in Punjab and how the struggling youth with nowhere to go deals with the reality they are left with.
It was Officially Selected for Asian Film Festival LA Hollywood and won Jury Special Mention Award at TOTO Awards 2021.
The tuition fees required for my 3-year course are around 12,550 Euro (approx 11.5 lacs), and there will be a further requirement of 10332 Euros (approx 9.5 lacs) for the blocked account, which is a mandated requirement for the German visa. We contacted banks for an education loan, but they refused. After including all of our savings, there's still a huge amount that is left for us to cover. I will not be able to make this dream a reality without the help of your contributions. No matter how small the amount, your support will ensure a future for me which I'd be eternally grateful for.
