Hi I Am Lakhan Birla From Khargone, Madhya Pradesh
Narmada Literature and Social Welfare Committee (नर्मदा साहित्य एवं सामाजिक कल्याण समिति) is working in the rural areas of Kharagone District, Madhya Pradesh. The committee is dedicated to providing quality education to the ten villages near Bangarda gram. In 2015, the committee started a school for underprivileged and backward class students. It is located in Bangards village of district Kharagone. In 2015, our main focus to poor students, then after two years, we open the school to all students, and currently, we are providing education to more than 480 students of any category in 10 villages near Bangarda. In 2019, We financed a school bus for remote areas of students. Everything is going very well for students and teachers of the committee. Our teachers are also doing a great job by shaping the future of bright students, and our students were selected in one of the most competitive exams of Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyala at every level, i.e., 5th class 8th class, and 10th class. But suddenly, we all face a big pandemic, and it will stick all the bright future of students.
Why this fundraiser?
Our fee structure is as a minimum that poor people can also effort quality education for their children. But due to this pandemic, everything was stoped, parent's incomes stopped, student's happiness is lost, and their future is in the dark if they will not get financial support. We are running the school in online mode for students and offline mode for teachers into their classrooms. For the last two years, we have not received student fees, and due to this, and if this situation continues, the student's education is in trouble, and we have to stop everything because we can not manage all these expenses on our own.
Our expenses:
We are currently running all the classes online and cannot pay teachers' salaries for more than six months due to zero-fee collection. Most of the parent's income is lost, and many of the students lost their education if we did not manage fees. In 2019-20, we received only fees from 120 students, although we gave fees waiver of 30% to every student and gave 100% fees waiver to backward caste students. We still need fees for more than 310 students for the year 2019-20.
