My name is Nivedita Karudekar and I am here to fundraise for my son, Shlok.

Shlok is 6 months old and is residing in Kalyan, Maharashtra. Shlok has been diagnosed with SMA.

Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) most often affects babies and children and makes it hard for them to use their muscles. When a child has SMA, there's a breakdown of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The brain stops sending messages that control muscle movement. When that happens, a child's muscles get weak and shrink, and he can have trouble controlling head movement, sitting without help, and even walking. In some cases, he can have trouble swallowing and breathing as the disease gets worse.

 Currently, there are two FDA-approved therapies available for SMA: Spinraza and Zolgensma. But, these therapies are available in USA and not in India. 

He needs one of therapy to fully recover which will cost around Rs.150,000,000.00
