While growing up, some our fondest memories have been playing football in the park, cricket in narrow lanes, or finding a coveted hiding place in a neighbourhood game of hide-and-seek.
When we recall these memories, we must also remember that not everyone has the privilege to experience these simple joys. The residents of a congested urban street in Okhla who are predominantly daily labourers, have no place for their children to play, bond and live their childhood.
The 5 of us: Shiv, Sohum, Rinzin, Nirvan and Vedika, are students of the American Embassy School who are trying to to raise funds so that the residents of Okhla can build a multi-purpose court for themselves complete with basketball hoops, a badminton net, and other equipment. Your contribution will go a long way into making our project Khel Kood a reality!
