Shifting Orbits Foundation (SOF) is a non-profit organization based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, dedicated to empowering children from underserved communities through the transformative power of education. Since its establishment in 2018, the Foundation has worked tirelessly to ensure that financial hardship never becomes a barrier to a child's dreams.
Each of the After School Learning Centers serve as an "Extended Home" providing the most safe and conducive learning space for students whom we prepare to eventually lead a movement of change in their communities. WE become their PARENTS and do everything we can to ensure they get the best.
Each year 15-20 students join each of these center in Grade 8 and go on to receive a "long and deep rooted support" in the form of tuitions/scholarships/soft skilling/financial literacy/mental wellness and practically everything they will ever need till they complete their college.
Established in 2018, SOF today impacts over 600+ families/2000+ dependents spread over 9 locations across Urban Bangalore, Coimbatore and Rural parts of Kerala.
Our hope in that in next 3-5 years we would have flooded the under served communities with enough educated members and started a "movement" of change in each of these communities!
How does our Scholarship Scheme work?

How does our Scholarship Scheme work?
Our model relies heavily on utilizing low cost/optimal schools and colleges for all our cohorts. Being in public schooling (Govt Schools) till Grade 10, their educational expenses are minimal till then but starts mounting up as they move to Grade 11 and upwards.
Typically we cap the scholarships at INR 36,000 (USD 432) for Grade 11/12 and INR 50,000 (USD 600). We also have a "parental share" added at around 15-20% of total fees so that there is a sense of ownership and accountability.

In addition, we tie up with scholarship partners so that our academically high performing students avail of these.
The scholarships offered are a gradient based on the students performance as shown below
How can you help us?While we are able to help our high academically performing students avail of scholarships through our external partners, there is sizeable chunk who are unable to secure them. These are brilliant students and deserve a better college even though they might be not be academically high performers
Our mission is incomplete if we are unable to take them along and see them complete their college too!
