UPDATE: 17 May 2022
It gives us great pleasure to announce that the inauguration ceremony of the cafe Sheroes Hangout (Kiosk) at Noida Stadium has happened on May 17th at 11 a.m.
The project is started in collaboration with Noida Authority aims to build institutional capacities of the Chhanv Foundation to provide employment to acid attack survivors women in the two kiosks situated inside the Noida International Stadium. Currently there are more than thirty women employed at the two branches of Sheroes Hangout, in Agra and Lucknow.

LAUNCH CEREMONY OF THE FIRST OUTLET
The ribbon cutting ceremony, which was performed by the CEO of the NOIDA Authority, Mrs Ritu Maheshwari, MP of Noida, Mr Mahesh Sharma, MLA Mr. Pankaj Singh, Mr. Alok Dixit & Sheroes Beneficiaries with the Chhanv Foundation team, was a highlight of the KIOSK launch. Following the ceremony, survivors of acid attacks shared their stories.

LAUNCH CEREMONY OF THE SECOND OUTLET
Two months ago, we inaugurated the second outlet of Sheroes Hangout Cafe that will provide job opportunities to 5 recently reached out acid attack survivors, in the premises of NOIDA International Stadium, Sector 21A Noida -201301 and was inaugurated by Miss Universe Great Britain 2022, Noky Simbani.

We are encouraged by the support we have already received on this campaign, but we still need help reaching our updated fundraising goal of INR 20,00,000. After a series of recent reach-outs we have 10 acid attack survivors who are currently critically awaiting rehabilitation with the infrastructure of Sheroes Hangout Cafe, and we need more resources than before to support these survivors.

Acid Attack survivors have to be supported and strengthened by all means so that they not only get employment opportunities but also create mass awareness against acid violence.

Quotes
Acid attack survivors have a difficult time even being accepted in society, let alone getting work. Their trauma is made much more difficult to endure by a culture that restricts their development. In Lucknow and Agra, 'Sheroes Hangout' has two branches that accommodate and employ 30 survivors. Our objective, however, is much broader; we want to assist as many survivors as possible. This is where Sheroes 2.0 comes into play. The kiosk centre will have an immediate impact on survivors' lives, taking them one step closer to the life they've always wanted.

- Alok Dixit, Director Chhanv Foundation

The concept of getting the 2 kiosks run by acid assault survivors is pushed by a social trigger as they’re most susceptible. It’s an extension to our social initiative drive wherein now we have deployed transgenders in one in every of metro stations at a ticket counter and two pink metro stations the place all work is being managed by ladies,”
- Ritu Maheshwari, CEO Noida Authority

Acid attacks are a reality in the world, and the survivors often give up on their lives. We want to help them emerge from their past by providing employment. We invest in their training to prepare them mentally and skill-wise to face the world.

SHEROES 2.0
We have finalised a tender bid to run the KIOSK at the NOIDA International Stadium located at Sec 21, which was offered by the NOIDA Authority, to add one more initiative to the series of Sheroes Hangout. As a result, the Chhanv Foundation launched SHEROES 2.0, to provide employment to 15 recently reached-out survivors at the Stadium. These survivors will be employed in two KIOSKS as part of the project. Acting as a safe shade upon the survivors, the impact of this project will be extended beyond the kiosk center - into the lives of acid attack survivors as It extend more employment opportunities and a viable presence to create a mass awareness in Delhi NCR.

Survivors of acid attacks have a hard time even being accepted in society, let alone finding work. Because of the society that limits their development, their trauma becomes even more difficult to bear. 'Sheroes Hangout' has two units in Lucknow and Agra that house and employ 30 survivors. But our mission goes beyond that; we want to help as many survivors as possible. This is where Sheroes 2.0 enters the picture. The kiosk is making an immediate difference in the lives of survivors, bringing them one step closer to the life they have always desired.
About the Organisation
Chhanv Foundation has been working to empower and rehabilitate acid attack survivors since 2013. In less than 9 years, we have changed the lives of 200+ acid attack survivors with an innovative social enterprise like Sheroes Hangout Cafe enabling Community based Rehabilitation (CBR) like never before. Our various medical and legislative campaigns have led to the formation of important law reforms, policy considerations, and proportional representation to rehabilitate acid attack survivors.

Sheroes Hangout Café
Sheroes Hangout is the only project in the country that is directly providing employment opportunities to survivors as it is run by acid attack survivors. The hangout, as said, promotes such social causes while introducing more awareness and social involvement on the ground level for survivors as they come out of their shells and represent themselves with Sheroes. Visitors at Sheroes Hangout also offer their support and service and voluntarily engage in the rehabilitation and socio-economic restoration of the acid attack survivors in Sheroes Hangout.

The first cafe was installed near Sports Complex, NOIDA Stadium. It employed 6 survivors and garnered immense popularity & growth of 300% within 3 months of its launch.

The second outlet near Gate No.4 of NOIDA Stadium will employ a total of 15 survivors at the Stadium making them self-reliant. The influence of this project will be extended beyond the kiosk centre - as it expands employment opportunities and establishes a viable presence of our cause against acid violence to raise broad awareness in Delhi NCR.
