We all have been impacted by the COVID 19 and Human is helping another human being. However, have we forgotten about our stray animals? The COVID-19 pandemic also has serious consequences for strays across the world. This pandemic has forced homeless dogs and cats to starve. The lockdown and curfew have not only impacted the restaurants and factories but also the thousands of strays animals who are dependent on leftovers provided by these businesses. Several people feed these poor animals regularly when they go on a walk, drive or even when they clean out the garbage. But, in light of lockdown, none of us are able to go outside and feed these strays. According to the Livestock survey conducted by the central government in 2019, there are 2,50,000 to 3,00,000 lakh strays dogs alone in Pune, Maharashtra, and Pune is now being called as one of the COVID 19 hotspot in India.
Therefore we have started this Stray Animals Relief Fund to support these poor animals who can’t take care of themselves but are an important part of our society. We aim to provide meals to as many as stray animals possible and keep them safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.
How are your donations being used?
We need 2,500,000 = 50,000 strays x 1 week x Rs. 50 per pack ( Biscuits, Water, Milk)
Due to limited volunteers, we will be feeding the strays across the Pune city only.
