Many female sex workers and their children have unmet needs for medical care, which puts them at risk for serious and potentially fatal health problems. Infants in these circumstances are often left alone or in substandard childcare facilities while their mothers work at night, and these children are often at risk for injuries from poor supervision or illness from poor nutrition as they grow up.
Sex workers, who have experienced violence, and alcohol or drug abuse, also suffer from mental health problems. When sex workers go to a health center for help, they are treated badly or refused for services. They do not have awareness or documents to access health benefits. And the pandemic has made the situation even worse!
To overcome this situation, Kat-Katha has been organising several health camps over the past few years to make GB Road a healthier community. This 15th August 2021, Kat-Katha aims to organise a MEGA HEALTH CAMP in collaboration with Mahavir International and Rotaract Club of The Caduceus. The camp will have specialized doctors for Eye, ENT, Gynae, Skin, and Child related health issues.
The camp will benefit more than 1000 women and 300+ children with FREE Consultation and Medicines. Kat-Katha is looking for support to organise the entire event. The basic costs will include setting up the camp, providing refreshments etc. Please come forward and help us make the community at GB Road safe and healthy.
