My name is Tharini, and I am asking for help with ongoing medical expenses for a young family in my village community in India.

Annapoorni is 22 years old, a wife and the mother of a 2 year old little boy. She lives in my home village of Virinjipuram in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu while her husband, Seenu works in a tire factory in Bengaluru. On November 20, 2020, Seenu was coming home from Bengaluru to visit his family when he was hit by a motorcycle on the highway.

He was rushed to Private  Hospital in Vellore where the doctors informed Annapoorni that he has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Life-saving brain surgery was performed that night and he is currently in ICU. He has had a tracheostomy to aid with his breathing and doctors have said that it is a matter of waiting to see when he is able to open his eyes. He remains unconscious a week after the accident and the outcome is very much unknown.

During this time, bills are mounting very quickly and the family is rapidly depleting their savings. The extended family and our local community are doing their best to help, but the need is great.

Seenu is the sole breadwinner for his family. This is a life-changing crisis. In the best possible outcome scenario outlined by the doctors, he will need at least 2 years of therapy and rehabilitation and further surgery.

Any contribution will help with the financial stress that his family is experiencing now and in the uncertain future.
