SHOUTT: Empowering Students Through the Arts
For a child, self-expression is the voice of their heart, turning their thoughts and feelings into something the world can see, hear, and understand- into something they can see, hear and understand!
For Iqra, a 9th grader, it was through SHOUTT’s music workshop that she found her voice. "I was nervous about singing, but Bhaiya helped me see how music could give me strength." What began as self-doubt transformed into newfound confidence.
For Ishant, a 3rd grader, SHOUTT meant creativity without fear. "I drew my own face on paper and felt so happy. I made new friends, and I wasn’t scared anymore." Through art, he found joy and connection.
These are just two examples of the impact SHOUTT has had on students across Pune. SHOUTT, a student-driven initiative, offers a series of workshops in art, music, dance, leadership, and logical thinking, all aimed at helping students from government schools express themselves, develop life skills, and explore new possibilities. It creates a space where they can shine, whether by painting their dreams, singing their hearts out, or stepping into leadership roles.
The Problem:
In Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) schools, many students face classrooms that limit their ability to express themselves and explore their creativity. This lack of opportunities hampers not only their self-expression but also their development of important values and skills. The limited view of the arts as a viable career path further restricts students' aspirations, preventing them from pursuing their passions in creative fields.
The Solution:
SHOUTT aims to transform this situation by providing enriching experiences through a series of hobby workshops that culminate in an exciting annual inter-school festival.
