Greetings,

I Zoya Arun along with my fellow Anindita Deeya are teen fellows of Orikalankani’s 13 Week Global Teen Fellowship, that is changing narratives around Menstruation and sexuality through art, theatre, and dialogue.

This fellowship helps teens like me understand the world better and empower us to become agents of change!

Animals and wildlife are close to our heart. However every day we see their numbers declining.

It’s shameful that we humans are behind the current rate of species extinction, which is at least 100–1,000 times higher than nature intended. There has been an astonishing 60% decline in the size of populations of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians in just over 40 years (Source: WWF's Living Planet Report 2018)

We are destroying their habitats, killing them for our own entertainment and polluting their world.
We need to stop this injustice and ACT NOW to conserve the precious wildlife!
This is really important, as the impact of this decline is far beyond the potential cultural loss of iconic species like tigers, rhinos and whales.

With this fund we want to raise awareness amongst young students and adults about protection of wildlife and conservation of their habitat.

This will be done through running an awareness campaign for 10 months which would involve tying up with major private and government schools, we will organising film screenings on wildlife, poster making competitions, presentations, training environment educators to form eco clubs, awareness through social media, interviews and getting on board and funding organisations working on rescuing wildlife.
