Artists are unable to secure work during challenging times, like these. They have minimal employment benefits and little ability to save in advance: most/all of our engagements are canceled due to social distancing restrictions and precautions.
The money artists get is to feed themselves and make the travel to continue their passion for art. Some of them come from small cities to make money and because of the lockdown got stuck. They don’t seek favor or ask for money and we often forget them as if they can manage their living by their talent itself. Don’t just praise their talent, rather it’s time to help them and save our cultural values and art with those artists.
Many artists are forced to shut their studios or workplace and even some are asked to leave places where they were living because they couldn’t pay the needful. Let’s do a favor on ourselves by saving them and also specially-abled people who live with their support and talent. India is fighting strongly against Corona and everyone is coming to support the nation. We are helping daily wagers, poor people, people who are stuck. In the midst of everything one community is suffering the most and no one is talking about it.
As you know all artists don’t end up working in Bollywood and make huge amounts of money. The artist community is very influential as we see in this lockdown we see how our lives are filled with music, dance, and films.
We Decided to Buy Groceries , pay their house rent, electricity bills and even pay their school fees for their Families. They have no source of income except this .
