Santosh Bala was diagnosed as COVID 19 positive on 11th May 2021. Continuous high fever, shortness of breath, and falling oxygen levels led to his hospitalization on 16th May 2021 at Chettinad Global Hospital in Chennai. He was put on oxygen support to maintain the O2 levels. On 25th May, he was shifted to ICU and put on Ventilator as O2 levels did not improve. Doctors said 90%  of his lungs were infected. His oxygen levels did not improve even after 8 days on ventilator, He has struggled but fighting to maintain oxygen levels and now he is undergoing ECMO treatment process for the 4th day.
