As of May 20th, the COVID-19 cases in India have crossed 1,00,000. With the second highest population in the world, India is suffering. There’s not nearly enough protective equipment and sanitisers for the entire population. For the homeless, the situation is even worse. Having no other option other than to stay outside in crowded spaces, they need access to supplies more than anyone else, but they can’t afford to buy new masks repeatedly.  And as the country descends into the third month of lockdown, unemployment is also rising. What if you could do your part to reduce the extent of both these problems?

Project Kavach aims to do just that. In partnership with Sanshil Foundation we are distributing hand sewn face masks, made by village women, amongst those who need them the most. Kits consisting of face masks, soap and illustrative instructional pamphlets (on proper usage of masks) cover their protection needs while at the same time provide employment to the village women.
