Introduction:
Project Kalakar, an initiative by Sankalp Sharma, founder of Vinyasa The Dance Ashram, in collaboration with Michael Maurissens from Belgium and Indian Women Impact, is set to revolutionize the lives of underprivileged children through the transformative power of art. With their combined expertise, we aim to create a profound impact on the lives of these deserving youngsters.
Mission:
Our mission is to empower these children with skills, knowledge, and confidence through immersive experiences in dance, art, and various life-enriching activities. Drawing from their extensive training and experience, Sankalp Sharma and Michael Maurissens will inspire and guide the participants on their journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration.
Program Details:
Over 15 days, the children will engage in dance training, skill development, and cultural exchange activities under the guidance of Sankalp Sharma and Michael Maurissens. They will explore various art forms, including contemporary dance, theater, and personality development, while also learning about farming, natural building, and other essential life skills.
Impact:
Project Kalakar aims to break the cycle of poverty by instilling a love for creativity and providing practical skills to underprivileged children. Through their participation in the program, they will gain confidence, discipline, and a sense of empowerment, setting them on the path to a brighter future.
Phases:
The culmination of their journey will be showcased in three phases:
- Local Performance: The children will perform their dance production at Vinyasa Earth and prestigious venues such as JKK or RIC, captivating local audiences with their talent and passion.
- National Tour: Taking their performance on the road, the children will travel to different parts of the country, spreading joy and inspiration through their art.
- International Showcase: As ambassadors of Indian culture, the children will have the opportunity to share their talents on the global stage, participating in international events and film festivals.
