Selvi, Sundaraj, and their daughters Samundeeswari and Nam Muthulakshmi have been living in their house for the last 5 years, in the village of Edyanchavadi in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. They recently reached out for help as their home has not been spared by the heavy rainfall and storms that have been hitting the region of Tamil Nadu since last November, destroying the houses of many. The walls and floor of their hut house were badly damaged. The roof is still hanging in there for now but has been damaged too and may fall at any time. Because their house is now unsafe, the whole family has found shelter in a government school, temporarily closed because of the current sanitary crisis. As schools are about to reopen, the Sundaraj family will have to leave the school soon with no other option but return to a home that has become dangerous.
