Support families of daily wage workers during this COVID-19 lockdown

In a little corner of South-West Delhi, the slum of Munirka is located. The population of Munirka, consists of migrant labourers, daily wage workers who are involved in the informal sector of the job market. The current lockdown due to COVID-19 has rendered most of the bread earners of these families unemployed. In many of these families ,the kids of the families are sole bread earners.
As a Teach For India fellow I was a teacher to 50 such kids. These kids were first generation learners from these families.I initiated a Mentorship Program -Taabeer Mentorship Program with the vision of providing these kids with an ecosystem of mentors and sponsors to go to and through college.
Currently, these kids and their families are struggling to pay their rent and to afford their food supplies. As most of these families do not have the required verification documents they also can't avail the little relief that the government is providing during this crisis situation.
This requires us to reach out to you to support these kids and their families and make this difficult time a little smooth for them.

Why 3,00,000?
Each family incures an estimated monthly expenditure of 18,000 for an average family size of 6.As the bread earners of these families are currently unemployed due to the lockdown and they do not have a substantial financial safety net ,the attempt is to support them with atleast one-third of their monthly expenditure (INR 6000).There are 50 such families currently.
