Menstruation is not a problem; poor menstrual hygiene is.
Only 57.6 % of women in India use pads, and approximately 23 million girls drop out of school when their period starts. The numbers alone scare us about the conditions of menstrual health in India, and it's high time we do something about it.
Project Stree is an ambitious initiative created by me and jointly co-founded with two of my Class 12 colleagues. Project Stree has been set up with a simple yet ambitious goal - to help provide hygienic menstrual products and support to girls living on the margins of our society. Our project targets to promote a healthier, illness-free way of life for as many lives as we can help improve with your financial support and our dedication and effort.
The team at Project Stree will disseminate information on the health benefits of using sanitary pads compared to the traditional cloth used by the target beneficiaries. We commit that 100% of all contributions you generously provide will be utilized exclusively to purchase these sanitary pads. Furthermore, all administrative and distribution costs associated with Project Stree will be funded exclusively by its three co-founders from their own funds.
Please donate generously to make this project successful. Every life is valuable.
