Schools always face issue with electricity cut-off due to non-payment of monthly charges, technical problems, especially in rainy season and during load shedding time.
To overcome these problems, we have come up with program Solar Shala, to set up solar power system in rural schools to provide uninterrupted electricity. So that schools can perform better.
Very recently Maharashtra Electricity department cut down power supply for more than 800 schools over non payment of overdue.
We have already solarized 12 schools with (1 KV) in 10 schools & 5 KV in 2 schools with support from Solar Village project, US based social enterprise. These 12 schools from Maharashtra now have access to free and clean electricity for 24 hours, this helping to create positive environment in schools and motivation to kids to attends schools regularly which further support to improve their better engagement in study and improve learning outcomes.
