Appeal for sponsors for payment of college fees of Rubiya Khanam, MBBS Student from Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, pursuing studies in DAVAO Medical School Foundation, Philippines.

Rubiya Khanam, native of Andhra Pradesh had applied for MBBS in DAVAO Medical School Foundation, Philippines, for the academic year 2019. Her parents applied for Foreign Education Scholarship for Minorities, Andhra Pradesh.
Presuming approval of Scholarship by the State government, Rubiya got admitted in the college by incurring an initial expenditure of about Rs.3.75 lakhs towards initial formalities. Government of Andhra Pradesh put the Scholarship on hold due to lack of funds and ongoing crisis of COVID-19 Pandemic and it is doubtful whether this will be opened in future. Only source of income of the parents from a small cloth shop in Hindupur is also drastically affected by the ongoing pandemic. As the instalment of tuition & hostel fees could not be paid, the College Authorities served notice to Rubiya for cancellation of admission.
Parents of Rubiya approached local authorities and also tried to meet Chief Minister of AP, for necessary support. In order to take the case to the notice of Chief Minister, mother resorted to hunger strike also but it did not yield any positive result.
The total amount required to complete her education is about 31.0 Lakhs.
First Year: 10 Lakhs
Second to Fifth Year: 5.25 Lakhs per annum. (Details provided in the attached documents)

Members of Bright Horizons Group from Guntur, AP, a small group of likeminded people that want to help and support Rubiya, with their knowledge and expertise but very limited resources, realised the pathetic condition of Rubiya, took initiative but could collect only Rs.6.85 lakhs and sent it to her parents for onward transmission. This amount could meet only two third of the first year fee. Management of DAVAO Medical School Foundation, Philippines, considered the globally prevailing situation and relaxed payment schedule thus giving respite to the parents.
