Education has always been my priority and here again, in East Garo Hills, the first thing I did was to inspect the condition of schools. When I was in Dadenggre as SDO(Civil), I initiated Project STAR(School Transformation by Augmenting Reosurces) under which one component was Adopt A School, wherein we appeal people to come forward to upgrade a school. The details of this can be read in my blog by clicking HERE. The transformation brought about can be seen in the picture below.
We are upgrading as many schools as possible with the funds available with the Education Department but they simply aren't enough to cover all the schools and also to completely transform the school into the model school.
In East Garo Hills also, I wish to transform as many government schools as possible with the help of crowd funding. Here are some pictures of this school I visited recently which is right in the heart of the town. Let's all come together, to transform into a model school. Presently the school has nearly 100 students. The teachers are facing difficult because of the poor infrastructure and the absence of teaching aids.
After the success of the previous campaign on milaap for transforming Songadinggre School in Dadenggre, there had been many requests for similar initiatives. Therefore, we are starting another campaign under the Adopt A School initiative. Once again, I request those with passion for transforming education, to come forward and donate generously and also to share this campaign.
