Help This Young Father Fight Cancer

Ronald is a father of a two and a half year old son. He is 34 years old and had just started taking on the responsibilities every man dreams of taking on. In a most unfortunate turn of events, he has been diagnosed with liver cancer (Multifocal Well Differentiated Hepatocellular Carcinoma) and we are humbly reaching out to all of you to help Ronald get the treatment he desperately needs.

Ronald hails from a small fishing and agricultural village, north of Kundapura Udupi District in Karnataka. Despite limited means, he is one of the most generous and helpful people we know. In search of a better life, Ronald moved to Bangalore to work as a gym instructor at an educational institute and has worked really hard to make a living and provide for his family. After his father's demise, he became the sole breadwinner for his family and his aging mother. He has always led a healthy life and our hearts are heavy with this ironical tragedy. It is unimaginably painful to even consider the possibility of Ronald's condition deteriorating further and we have pledged to do everything in our capacity to help him recover.

As a first step of treatment, doctors have advised multiple sessions of chemotherapy over the next seven months. Depending on how he responds, we may have to consider other surgical options such as a liver transplant. The estimated cost for the first stage of the treatment is Rs. 12 lakhs (approx. US$ 18600). In case the desired results are not achieved after the first stage, the doctors have estimated additional costs of Rs. 18 lakhs (approx. US$ 27900). As it is practically impossible for Ronald and his family to provide for such an expensive treatment, he needs everyone capable and willing to support him.

Given the enormous cost of his treatment, the seriousness of his condition, and the financial instability of his family, we humbly request all of you, on behalf of his family and friends, to please lend a helping hand and support him.

Even the smallest contribution from you will mean the world to us and we would be truly indebted for your generosity.

May god bless you!

Dear Supporters,
Thank you all for your support.

Ronald is currently at home and doing well. He's under medication prescribed by the doctors to shrink the small tumors which he still has. Otherwise, he doing well and living a normal active life.

Doctors have suggested that he'll remain under the same medication for the next one year. Recently, an MRI was also done and he keeps visiting doctors for routine check-ups.

The family is really grateful to each one of you for the love and support which you have shown towards him.

Thank you so much!

Dear supporters,

Here is an update on Ronald's health.

We thank you again for your continued support for Ronald. As of now, his chemotherapy sessions have been completed. We are very happy to let you know that the doctor’s report has indicated that a large part of the cancerous cells is dead, and Ronald is recovering well.

He has been able to spend time with his family and carry out his daily activities. This would not have been possible without your generous support. Despite the recovery, further investigation brought to our notice that although the growth of the tumor has stopped, the size has not reduced much.

The doctors had advised him to take 200 mg of Tablet Soranib for 3 months daily (morning & evening). After taking the tablet from September 2017 to January 2018, Ronald has had some side-effects like severe rashes on his skin (pictures attached). The medication has not resulted in much shrinkage of the tumor. Based on the MRI and blood examination conducted in January, the doctors have now advised 4 mg Tablet Levatinib for three months daily (morning & evening).

This medication would cost approximately Rs. 2 lakhs for the entire course and has brought upon us another financial uncertainty. Further, he may be required to continue this medication for longer than the initial period of three months, if the tumor does not shrink as expected.
In light of this development, we humbly request you to continue supporting Ronald. Your support means the world to us and would go a long way in getting Ronald back on his feet and allowing him to be there for his young son in every way a father wants.
We extend a million thanks to all of you who have helped us in this journey and sincerely request you to spread the word and donate anything you wish to.

May god bless you.
