My name is Romit Gupta, residing at Baguiati, Kolkata 700059, West Bengal. My mother Rakhi Gupta (53) was diagnosed with Lupus, a Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD Stage 3) just 2 years after my father passed away on 20th January, 2014. She was under treatment of Prof. Dr. Subrata Kumar Bhoumik, of Lifeline Hospital, Kolkata, for several years where her conditions were showing improvements due to medication she was receiving back then. Last year 2019 from the month of August her conditions started to detoriate she then was moved onto even stronger medications like steroids and injections. She rapidly detoriated from CKD Stage 3 to stage 4. Then on 5th June 2021, we had to admit her in Fortis Hospital & Kidney Institute , Kolkata, under Dr. Upal Sengupta, she was in Stage 5 and both her Kidneys couldn't work properly and was damaged upto 80%. She needed urgent life support in the form of Dialysis and underwent two surgeries. The mediclaim we had, somehow covered the cost of first four hemodialysis, and two surgery for channeling, and we had to pay the remaining amount with cash, then she was discharged on 12th June 2021. She is now in CKD STAGE 5 (Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5) and she must receive 3 dialysis per week with various injections like one for haemoglobin which costs very much. Later on in 2019 we found out some similar symptoms occuring to my Sister as my mother would had earlier. She was tested out with the same kind of disease i.e Lupus, as we found out it can also transmit genetically. I was tested negative for Lupus. My sister's name is Anuja, and she is also battling with this but she is under medication and her condition is stable now. We are trying very hard to suffice the need but we just can't meet the increasing requirements day by day. Me and my sister were trying to make ends meet since so long but we are running out of money, our funds are drying up and we need as much as of help for my mother's survival. We will use this fund for her dialysis and the medications she needs to survive day after day. I request you with my hands folded in humility to please help me and my mother.
