Thirty! The big 3-0. Already?
Just like that, another milestone. Reflecting on the years gone by, and I'm not sure where to start. The overwhelming thought and feeling is that of gratitude. First off, I can't begin to express my gratitude to God for His goodness and faithfulness towards me. Next, I'm so grateful for the incredible family that I was born into, and the many friends who have become family over the years. Words cannot describe how much I've been blessed by the people in my life.
All things considered, I think I've had it pretty good thus far! Which brings me to this past year - to say that it was strange or interesting would be an understatement. It's been a year like never before - thousands lost jobs and loved ones, some experienced loneliness, others found new hobbies, many depleted life savings to survive, and few thrived and prospered!
Through the challenges, fear and uncertainty, HOPE is the only thing that kept us going. Hope that we will make it through. Hope that what's ahead is better than what's behind. Hope that we don't have to do this alone! This season has provided fresh perspective on how important people and community are to our wellbeing. For me, what became even clearer is that life is too short to live for myself and that I need to be more purposeful. As a result, I'm making a commitment to myself and God to do what I can along with my small sphere of influence to create an impact bigger than myself.
If you're still reading, this is where the rubber hits the road. To mark my birthday, I'm starting an annual fund to raise money that will be given towards non-profit causes and organisations. The goal - raise at least Rs. 90,000 ($1250) - (Rs. 3,000 for each year of my life).
(1) 50% will go to World Vision India, to continue the incredible COVID relief work
(2) 50% will go towards a long-term investment (like a venture fund) - used to fund larger causes, and to support families and individuals who have had it tough during this season.
It would mean a lot if you decide to be a part of this in some way - the amount really doesn't matter. If you have questions, please message me directly. Regardless, I'm just grateful for your friendship, love, prayer and support over the years!
PS. If you've had a tough year and need some help, please message me directly. I want to do my best to help you, and I promise I will keep it confidential.
