Riti: I wish I could hear you Mom. "Please Help her hear and speak"

We are Ritesh and Ranjeeta, proud parents of Riti Dubey (1Yr 3M). We longed for our girl child and were so happy to have a complete family. We were eager to hear the magical words "mama" and "dada" as she approached 1 year of age. And lately we realised she can not hear and therefore she can not speak as well.

She has been diagnosed with Profound Hearing Loss and She needs to undergo "Cochlear Implant Surgery" with which she will be able to hear and then with speech therapy speak as well.

Cochlear Implant Surgeries are quite costly (Rs. 32,40,000 surgery cost + Post Surgery Care of Approx Rs. 2,00,000) and being the middle class people, though we pay taxes,  we can not get the government benefits.

We have spent close to Rs. 1,00,000 on her diagnosis until now and all the doctors are suggesting for Cochlear Implant is the only option.

"She can speak, She can hear".... "We can hear her chirping voice" if she can undergo this surgery. She can be close to normal kids in hearing and speaking and she can do wonders by contributing back to society in whatever she does in future just like a normal person.

In the next 30 days, we need Rs.32,40,000.00 for the Cochlear Implant Surgery.

Please come forward to support my kid who is yet to hear music and harmony of life. Let her know life is more than just seeing.

Any contribution will be of immense help. Do contribute and share this campaign link with your friends and family.

Thanking You.

Ask for an update
7th April 2020
Dear All,

Greetings of the day!!

You will be happy to know that, Riti's wounds have healed completely and Riti has got her Switch On done on 30th March 2020. Switch-On process is basically, when the external device is mapped for receiving and transmitting sounds to the internal Implants.

In the current situation, we were worried that her Switch On may get delayed due to lock-down. However, thanks to Dr. Shiva who could help us in reaching this milestone early as the entire purpose of undergoing this surgery at the early stage was to ensure that she starts hearing early and thereby her progress towards hearing and speech will be also smooth.

I am writing this update almost after a week of Switch on, as yesterday was the first day when she kept the device on her ears for the entire day. This essentially means that she has accepted the implants and she is able to understand that these external devices are helping her hear some sounds.

As of now, the mapping of the external device (processor) is for lower volume and after 1 week, we have to visit the Dr. to get it mapped again for higher level of sounds. This process will continue for next approx next 2 months at a regular interval of approx 16-20 days.

I am sharing a few pics of Riti with the External device on her ear. Keep praying for her and showering your blessings as we try hard on our part to help understand and relate to the various sounds and thereby help her speak as well.

With loads of love and heartfelt thanks.
Riti, Rayansh, Ranjeeta and Ritesh.

Dear All,

You will be happy to know that RITI was successfully operated on 13th March 2020 at KIMS Hospital Secunderabad by Dr. Janardan Rao Jagini. The surgery went on for 5.5 Hrs and the bandages are expected to be removed on 20th March 2020.

With this surgery, half of the battle towards hearing has been won by RITI and the next half will start after the "Swich On" of the Cochlear Implant. The "Switch On" is expected to happen by the end of this month. And then she'll start listening to us and thereafter she'll start speaking as well with the help of the Audio Verbal Therapy (AVT).

We can not express our gratitude in words. It would not have been possible without all your support, guidance and encouragement. A big thanks to all of you for helping us and keeping us in your prayers.

Thanks and Warms Regards from all of us.
Riti, Rayansh, Ranjeeta, and Ritesh
