Looking Back, Moving Forward: 70,000 reached, 30,000 to go!!

It's been over 50 days that the lockdown has been implemented across India owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has adversely affected the marginalized communities and people in distress who have neither food to eat nor money to buy the same and are struggling to survive.
RISE Infinity Foundation in partnership with partner organizations has till date provided ration kits and essentials to families across the country. While a lot of such support in terms of family ration kits, hygiene kits, etc had been provided to such individuals in the initial days of the lockdown, it was never anticipated that the lockdown would be extended trice and to this extent.  Most of the earlier supplies distributed to these individuals from the funds raised earlier, have by now been exhausted or on the verge of getting over. Even if the lockdown is partially lifted and some economic activity resumes, it would be a month before these individuals get some money, if at all they manage to get some work.
RISE Infinity Foundation is working towards identifying and supporting such individuals by providing them with ration kits and essentials which will sustain a family of four for around two weeks. Each kit will contain basic items such as rice, wheat, dal, oil, tea powder, salt, sugar, and few biscuit packets.
Be a part of this noble cause by sponsoring either a single ration kit with Rs 900 or even more, based on your own capacity and concern. Every rupee you contribute will ensure that these people will not go hungry!

A 64-year-old Esakki Thayi, a South Indian breakfast vendor from Matunga Camp in Mumbai, had attempted suicide after losing all hopes of returning to her hometown in Tamil Nadu. Restrictions imposed on the inter-state travel during the total nationwide lockdown had stirred chaos in the lives of these migrant labourers who were left stranded with no alternative means of transport. Thayi was mourning the loss of her granddaughter and wanted to be there with her daughter. Like Thayi, many from her community were struggling to return home as well but couldn't find any proper help.

The volunteers of Rise Infinity Foundation (RIF) not only counseled Thayi but also managed to work on the travel logistics despite several hiccups in securing state permissions in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic. The labourers from Matunga Labour Camp reached their homes safely with smiles on their faces. It was due to this initiative of Jeevan Rath undertaken by RIF in collaboration with a few partner organizations and funds raised with support from people like you, RIF was able to achieve this feat. Thayi's is among the several stories which we can share to tell you how your donations and collaborations help us in serving the needy and marginalised.

A glimpse into what we were able to achieve so far with your support and also with the help of our partner organizations -

  • Set up a Crisis Management Centre with a 18x7 helpline to track, provide support and ensure that the migrants have reached home safely. Over 70,000+ migrants helped with the travel and were tracked throughout their journey to ensure that they reached home safely.
  • Over 4,400+ ration kits (Rs. 900 each) to the migrant labourers who lost their jobs in the pandemic.
  • Over 5,200+ Sanitary napkins were distributed to the migrant women who were walking back home and were exposed to infections.
  • Over 8,000+ masks were distributed to the migrant families.
  • Over 3,000+ travelers were provided with food on the road.

We couldn't have done it without your support. However, we still want to reach 30,000 more such families. And we need your help in raising funds. Help these migrant families wade through their tough circumstances in this crisis. Share this with your friends and family.
