Rise Above Foundation

We at RISE ABOVE FOUNDATION, aspire to change this inequality. We do that by bringing together the people who want to give and the organizations that work to make a difference. The consequences of poverty are manifold and it impacts families through generations. An intervention at the right time, like educating one generation or providing livelihood to increase income can help families break the cycle of generational poverty.
India is the population rich. Our people are our resources and if each one of us commits to giving regularly, we will be strong enough to solve our problems.
We could even be audacious enough to say that we as a community may not need any aid if we make giving a way of life. Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases
one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in isolation. A child will go to school only if the family, particularly the mother, is assured of healthcare and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation. Today, 8 million children in India are out of school – surrounded by poverty, illness, and despair; they are fighting a daily battle for their survival. Together, we can help a child and bring hope in their lives. Together, we can bring change and make it last.

According to the Central Statistical Organization of India, there are about 3.2 million NGOs all around India. India has more per capita NGOs than hospital beds. In urban areas 4 NGOs per 1000 people and in rural areas 2.3 NGOs per 1000 people. Then what is the worth of being involved in NGOs' work? In every sector, NGOs are working. Political Change doesn't take that time but social change does. A society takes 100s of years to change socially, politically, economically, environmentally and gender parasitically. We started working on a few core sectors where efforts of each and every people are needed. Like :

1. Women empowerment: Every living being on earth has been created by two opposite sex but except human being in every kingdom there is gender parity. Gender disparity is not only an issue of India but it prevails around the world. From the birth sex ratio to the work sex ratio, everywhere females are being discriminated against. In gender parity, India stands at 95 among 129 countries. According to International Labour Organisation
India can grow with more then 25% of its GDP if we give equality to our female workforce. We work to prevent female foeticide, child marriage, domestic violence, Dowry system. We work on girl child education along with skill development to make them self reliance. Your contribution can make a sea change in someone's life. We spend 20% of your contribution on Women empowerment.

2. Food and Cloth Distribution: From Gandhi's Swadeshi to Industry, Bengal famine to Green revolution India has done a lot to fulfill its basic needs like ' Roti Kapda Aur Makaan '. But in 2019 Global Hunger Report India stands At 102 out of 117 countries. We are high in Maternal Mortality Rate, Infant Mortality Rate, income inequality index. It's not the only government or somebody else who will take a pragmatic approach on these issues. Everyone should have participated in this mass movement.
Rise Above foundation not only encourages people to donate but also make people aware of Food waste. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN, approximately one-third of the food produced for human consumption, which amounts to 1.3 billion tones, gets lost or wasted.  It is estimated by the UN that nearly 40% of the food produced in India is wasted or lost. And this cost India 'one lakh crore' rupees every year. This is why the Rise Above Foundation spends 20% of its donation in food and clothes Distribution.

3. Skill Development: We very often take pride in the number of engineers and science graduates India produces each year. According to the US-based National Science Foundation, there are approximately 7.5 million engineering and science graduates in the world, out of which one-fourth or 25%  are in India.  On the other hand, few Global Organizations talks about the unemployability of Indian science and Engineering graduates stood at 94%. Which means only 6% are employable. Somewhere we are lagging behind in the education system.  Whereas in South Korea, Japan or German more then 90% workforce is skilled. Inspite of numerous government policies, we are not able to reach upto the potential mark of our Nation. Here rise above foundation comes into the picture by putting a small stone in a sea of young starts. We encourage schools, colleges, associated NGOs to promote skill education. We focus on MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise), girls skill education to make our workforce skilled for our nation's overall growth. Rise above foundation donates 10% of its total donation. Be a reason for someone's smile.

4. NGO & Orphan help: There are lots of NGOs very much active in Education, health care, Population control, Organic farming, sustainable growth, Person with disability, Acid attack victim counseling and rehabilitation on. Rise above foundation has collaborated with them to extend its service area for the society by making them worry-free financially. India is a home of Orphan children's as of now we 23 million Orphan children. How we can expect a developed, prosperous, flourishing, egalitarian society without proving the basic facilities to our abandoned and Orphan kids. As per the government data, almost 1.5 Lakh people lost their lives in road accidents in 2017, which translates to 17 deaths every hour due to an accident. Sometimes they leave their kids behind. Rise above foundation has taken it under consideration and we donate 20% of your contribution in such orphanages and NGOs. We create a competitive environment among NGOs to bring the best out of them.

5. Education: “Give me 100 energetic young men and I shall transform India” - Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda was a visionary youth icon, he used to talk about training young minds with Education, empathy, courage, deontology, Love, courage to transform India. It's is good to see that student enrollment ration has gone up over the years. But India is facing students drop out problem very much in high school and higher education level. Rise above foundation not only encourage the student in enrollment but also encourages parents by helping them with educational needs. We strictly keep in mind about child labor and bound labor practice too. Rise above foundation donates 30% of your donation in Education. Be a reason of change.
