We run 2 learning centres for drop out children in Wazirpur J.J. colony, Delhi. Our main objective is to build their educational skills and to strengthen and empower the very young adolescents to be able to negotiate with the outside world. Most of them do not have warm clothes or footwear.
Little Madhu (name changed) lives in JJ Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi – 110052 who is merely 13 years old has lost both of her parents to health reason. She and her brother stay with her grandmother and uncle who is an alcoholic and refuses to provide her basic support.
Like her, another girl her name is Kavita (name changed) is 10 years old, she wakes up every morning to go rag-picking with her parents. There are many more such children who are engaged in menial jobs to meet their basic needs like food and clothes.
There are many similarities in all these children that all of them have dropped out or never been to school to their own reasons, but still the desire to study further has not ended in them. Therefore, about 50 children (Boys & Girls) like Kavita and Madhu are studying in the learning centres run by PACE with our partner NGO.
These centres are being run in JJ Colony, Wazirpur, Delhi - 110052 for children belonging to most deprived section of the society including dalit and minority communities from migrants, labourers, rag pickers, domestic helpers, daily wage workers and families living in a bare minimum. These children are struggling to arrange two proper meals so having warm winter cloths and slipper is out of question.
Therefore, we have planned to gift them 2 sweaters,1 pair of slipper each to protect them from harsh cold winter. We will be highly obliged if you can help us to raise the same and it's a humble request to all the donor to come participate in the gift distribution event and interact with our inspiring rising stars.
