Gift A Book Of $1 and Support READ2LEAD Programs OF Krishi.NGO

I was a school drop out when I was 7 years old, by all means my parents sent me to a govt school in our village. Where I studied my 1st and 2nd grades under a tree,  we had "No School Days" during rainy season as there were only two class rooms for all primary grades.

When I look back, poverty and access to the education are the major root causes. Which triggered me to establish Krishi Integrated Rural Development Society (KRISHI NGO) in 2005 along with Sateesh Bompelli, Satya Narayana and group of other friends. Over the last 14+ years we have organized series of "Back2School Programs" across rural and tribal villages in Telangana and AP States - and enrolled 1128 school drop out children back to schools. We celebrated it as "Mission 1000 Smiles" When we crossed 1000 children in 2017, besides we have supplied backpacks filled with all school supplies to over 6000 school going students so far.

When I was in my 8th grade, I was unable to read the blackboard. I compromised on my abilities to read, write and learn for more than a year with ignorant vision problems. When I was working on an intense home work for more than an hour in my 9th grade, eyes get strained and water(tears) used to come out of my eyes without my knowledge. My father asked a question "Is every thing okay, any punishment given by the teacher at school?" I said "I do not know, what happened to my eyes. I keep getting these water whenever I read or write for longer duration". Long story short, I was diagnosed with high degree of myopia at the age of 14 years, and my father had to work for two months to buy me spectacles.

The painful experience of mine triggered us to start "SEE2READ Programs"in rural and tribal villages, So far we have screened 1200 children and provided spectacles for 362 children. Which is about 30% of school going children are suffering from ignorant eye-sight. As a result of series of representations with Govt of Telangana, recently they launched it as "Kanti Velugu" Program to carry out preventive eye check ups in schools.

I hardly had exposure to library books beyond my text books (grade level syllabus) when I studied from a govt school in remote village. As I learnt the hard way the importance of access to educational resources, recently we launched "READ2LEAD Programs" Which is a collection of library books and digital resources to provide multitude of books and learning resources to the under-served children in Telangana and AP States.

We are planning to empower READ2LEAD centers with Digital Class Rooms, AI/NLP based Google Home devices, Amazon Kindle Devices, Tablet computers, and a cloud based mobile app to connect mentors and story tellers from across the world.

We envision to empower the children with the power of Collaboration and access to the mentors (remotely) to ensure guided learning opportunities. This fundraiser is to enrich the centers with more books, digital resources, provide internet, connect mentors and ensure the constant engagement of students.
