Hi, I am Anjana Mohapatra. I am raising this fund for seeking monetary assistance for my younger brother Ramnarayan Mohapatra, who has been battling with Covid-19 since 04-June-2021 and was admitted to AMRI Hospital, Bhubaneswar on 07-June-21 when he was facing difficulty in breathing and coughing continuously.

On 04-July-21, he was diagnosed with post covid pneumonia with complicated pneumothorax (a hole in right lungs) and was intubated in ventilation and required ECMO treatment which was unavailable in Bhubaneswar. On 12-July-21, he was airlifted in ventilation support from AMRI Hospital Bhubaneswar to Apolo Hospitals Hyderabad with the help of Air Ambulance Services that had cost Rs 8,20,000/-. In addition to that we were charged Rs 8,75,000/-  towards ECMO expenses. But during medical examination, his condition was found to be unfit for ECMO, so we had to take risk and airlift with ventilation support only. Because of air travel in ventilation, his condition was deteriorated as his oxygen dropped to 25% twice during the journey. When he arrived at Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad, his condition was critical and also his BP was reported low. He was then further kept in ventilation with prone position and CT scan was taken for him. The result of his CT score was found to be 25/25 due to complication of pneumothorax in right lungs.

My brother was further kept on ventilation for 5 days starting 12-july-2021 in Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad. Yesterday, 17-july-2021, tracheostomy was operated on him but his condition was still worsening. Today, 18-july-2021, because of his critical condition he has been given ECMO treatment. 

My brother currently is in critical condition and is operating under ECMO which is costing us 3 lacs/day along with ICU charges. And he will be requiring a prolonged ICU treatment along with ECMO. This increases the treatment cost of nearly 2 crores.

My brother is a software engineer with 9+ years experience and is battling every moment with covid and severe lung infection.
