With great sadness, we announce the demise of Ramesh Tikaram at 5.35 pm this evening (16 July 2020). Doctor at Manipal Hospital confirmed the same. 

A life gone too soon. His ever enthusiastic spirit to promote sports will be remembered. His achievements in the field of sports will be an inspiration to children, especially the ones with disability. He will forever be remembered as a committed sportsman, loving father and a devoted son. May the forces give his family and friends, the strength to cope with the loss of a wonderful soul.

Ramesh Tikaram, an international para athlete, Arjuna Awardee, coach and father of 2 daughters is in need of help.

Ramesh with no known comorbidities was admitted to Manipal Hospital, Bangalore on 29 June 2020, with complaints of fever, cough and shortness of breath which gradually progressed. He was intubated and was in the MICU on lung protective ventilation. He was tested positive for COVID-19. Medication/treatment was given to him ever since.

He was on a ventilator and undergoing dialysis and required ICU care to treat SARS-COV2 INFECTION WITH MULTISYSTEM ORGAN FAILURE.

His family is unable to support the hospital expenses and is in need of your help.

For all of us who knew Ramesh, he was a fighter and a strong personality. He has never taken fees from the athletes he's trained so far. It's time for us to support his family pay his medical bills.  Please come forward to support his cause. Any contribution will be of immense help.
