The unprecedented situation of pandemic COVID-19 had already created a massive crisis of basic necessities in the rural areas of West Bengal. Add to that Super Cyclone Amphan has left death and devastation in its wake in rural areas of coastal Sundarbans and South 24pargana.
The condition in the Sundarbans and South 24 Parganas is indescribable. Suffering souls are dying. Most of the mud-built huts are washed off in the cyclone. Rising river water and damaged river dams in Kutali, Deulbari, Debipur GP has rendered many homeless. Foodgrain stocks and standing crops are damaged. Livestock’s are at stake. Coastal villages of Kuttali, Patharpatima, Namkhana, Gosaba, Basmati, Sagar, Kakdip are struggling for existence. These stranded people have no shelter, safe drinking water, no electricity, etc.
Pandemic COVID-19 and Super Cyclone Amphan has put them under tremendous vulnerability and have exposed to food crisis.

Bindur Pathsala, a community based organization, is to urge you all to come forward and support the initiative to help them cope with this prevailing food crisis. Bindur Pathsala will reach out to about 400 families in Sundarbans and South 24 Parganas, who are in desperate need of urgent relief materials during this critical times of loss and agony.
