    This fundraiser will benefit

    Rajeshwari Naganathan

    from Coimbatore

My cousin,  Ms.Rajeshwari the sole breadwinner of the family taking care of her old parents met with an accident on Nov 11th with a lorry running over both her legs. She is being treated at Royal care super-specialty hospital. She is currently in ICU, yet to regain conscious. She has undergone a 7-hour marathon surgery and continues to be on life support/ICU requiring multiple operations over the course of the coming weeks and bed rest for at least a year. Doctors are striving to recover one of her legs at this time with nerves damaged/cut and infection spreading to her thighs. My cousin's family comes for a very small closely-knit family and stay in a small rented house. Their income/they will not be able to afford the prolonged treatment Rajeshwari may require with very little insurance coverage which may only last for a couple of days.
My uncle is old and not working anywhere and is already having his own medical conditions and age that has prevented him from working anywhere for a couple of years now. He is over 60 years. My aunt, a very cheerful and positive lady, who has never complained about anything, has been wanting to be independent has been trying to take up odd/temporary/ short duration jobs as a cook when possible so as to not depend on their daughter's income and make ends meet. With the sole steady breadwinner, my cousin hospitalized, they now have to look at a prolonged period of loosing work/income + meet medical expenses to maintain and support Rajeshwari for a long duration with my aunt also having to be at home since Rajeshwari would need a caretaker for at least a year with both legs severely injured in the accident due to the lorry running over both her legs.

I spoke to my aunt and the only thing she requested me was to pray to God bring her daughter back to normal life and all that she wanted was to continue their normal life with their daughter going back to work as usual and leading her normal life. Any help in terms of donation and spreading the word will help this family and old couple focus on taking care of their only daughter physically / mentally / emotionally with worrying less about money which causes them more stress at this old age. Thanks for all your help.

Update on 14th Nov Night is that doctors have advised that one leg needs to be amputated)
----------
Update on 15th Nov:  Despite the best efforts, the doctors were unable to save Rajeshwari's leg. It was removed last night. Rajeshwari is back in the ICU now. She regained conscious briefly and had spoken to her mom. She is not yet aware of the operation performed.

I , the family and all her friends and colleagues share their heartfelt gratitude all those have contributed and shared this story. All your prayers are what is keeping the family/us/friends/colleagues hopeful that Rajeshwari should be back from this episode strong and we are praying God gives the family the strength at this difficult time.

Considering she is still in ICU after this major operation to check the spread of infection, she has to be in the hospital/ICU for continued observation/treatment. They would have to then check the response of the other leg and work towards healing it and containing the infection also ensuring the operated leg/wound heals.

Parents are also yet to come to terms with having to take care of Rajeshwari once she is back at home which will may take couple of more weeks atleast in hospital.

Please continue to share/support them. Thanks again.
