My name is Rajeev Bajaj. I have completed my schooling from a government boys school and primary schooling from a low budget income school in East Delhi in a Teach For India classroom. I had always been inclined towards art. However, it was only in grade 8 that I realised that I could actually build my career in this field. That there was a scope beyond medical and engineering! This ignited a fire in me to ensure that I get into one of the best colleges for art and design.
This journey of 5 years has not been a smooth road but filled with questions and insecurity about future. While passion seems to be the way to go, there are ground realities that make you question your dream. India does not have many lucrative employment options if you build a career in design except if you come from prestigious colleges like NIFT or NID.
Hence, I had made up my mind that no matter what, I'm going to crack these exams. I am predominantly a self taught artist. However, I did take coaching for the exams with help of some amazing people. The hard work and perseverance of 5 years finally became fruitful when I cracked NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology)! I have been offered a seat at NIFT, Gandhinagar in Fashion Communication (Find the doc attached).

Unfortunately, this isn't the end of the rocky path for me. The fee of the college is extremely high for my parents to afford. My cumulative family income lies between 10 - 12k and we're a family of five. Although, the institute offers a scholarship for tuition fee, there are other expenses to be met. The details are as follows:
Living expenses : 10000 per month (120000 per annum)
For 2 years: 2,40000
Laptop and camera (essential for the course) : About 120,000
Mess fee : 15000 * 8 = 120,000
Travel : About 20,000

My father has already exhausted his savings for booking the seat by bearing the cost for first semester. Therefore, I reach out to all of you to help me realise this dream. I have dared to dream, despite being aware of the inequalities that cripple our system. I request you to help me to make this dream a reality. And I ensure that I'll do this for others once I become capable.
I have added living expenses for 2 years as I hope to begin freelancing and working part time to cover my expenses by 3rd year.
