The Novel Coronavirus has hit India leaving the government with no other option than a complete lockdown to contain its spread. Lockdown is an extremely testing time for all people especially for daily wagers, contract laborers & all those whose livelihood depends on day to day earnings. They will be the biggest victims of the lockdown even before COVID-19 enters their communities. Income inequality is a harsh reality in India, with a large segment of the population having to work daily for their sustenance. The biggest question is how will they feed their families? These people do not have the financial resources to stock up supplies even for a week. Yes food, without which one can survive.
As we all struggle with a global pandemic and its disastrous effect on our local economies, it is important for us to immediately pivot our philanthropic energies to the most vulnerable among us.
AS you all know the running Corona Virus cases there are many people who are not able to have daily food and basic requirements to safeguard themselves. So we as a group are trying to raise funds through this campaign and all those needy people who are not able to purchase masks and sanitizers also. So I want to raise around INR 5,00,000 to help these needy.
Funds utilization:
Providing masks and sanitizers for 500 people we are targeting to raise funds of INR 10,00,000 to cover the continuous supply of food to these helpless people for about the next 60 days.
Each meal costs about INR 100/- per day and the total cost of 150 meals per day is about INR 10,000/- and for 60 days, it is estimated INR 8,00,000 lakhs and we can deliver about 9000 food packets to the helpless people, who are waiting to receive.
Funds utilization:
Per day meals - INR 100
INR 100*150 members = INR 15000 per day
15000*60 days= 900000
