🌱 Campaign Note – Coin for Canopy
This campaign is initiated by Green Tree Foundation, a registered not-for-profit organization based in Talupula Village, Sri Sathya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh. I, Gangi Setty, am supporting this initiative in a purely voluntary and unpaid capacity. All funds raised go directly to the Foundation’s official bank account and will be used solely for the stated purpose.
- Purpose:Creating a Local Tree Revolution through Farmer-Led Nurseries
- The funds raised through this campaign will be utilized to establish and scale a source nursery of high-quality agroforestry and fruit saplings under the Green Tree Foundation.
- This nursery will serve as a sustainable solution to the recurring challenge of poor sapling availability, high costs, and low survival rates in dryland regions.
- ✅ Establishing a decentralized sapling nursery system for quality tree varieties suited to arid and semi-arid agro-climatic zones.
- ✅ Ensuring timely availability of saplings during the monsoon window so farmers can plant when survival is highest.
- ✅ Reducing the cost burden on farmers by subsidizing saplings and avoiding middlemen.
- ✅ Organizing trainings and workshops on:
- Grafting, budding, and propagation techniques
- Tree-based farming models
- Post-plantation care
- ✅ Promoting the "Local Production for Local Consumption" principle by encouraging community-managed nurseries and regionally adapted species.
