According to the National Cancer Registry Programme, 1 in 9 Indians develop cancer during their lifetime. Even if cancer is identified at an early stage, 50% of patients stop visiting hospitals after two or three cycles of chemotherapy due to the high cost of treatment.
We are a chapter (subgroup) of Teens for Cancer Patients (TCP) called TCPxSouth, mainly operating in Southern Bangalore. TCP is an international youth-led organization dedicated to battling cancer. Since launching in September 2021, TCP has served over 400 persons in 9 countries with 10+ chapters, has hosted a successful event “Impact of COVID-19 On Cancer prevention” with over 90+ attendees, and has fundraised over 1 lakh rupees ($2000) for financially sensitive patients.
TCP has partnered up with Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Center based in Silchar Assam, headed by the Padma-Shri (award presented by the President of India) receiver Dr Ravi Kannan to fundraise for patients who cannot afford treatment. All funds shall proceed to Cachar.
Please help us raise funds for cancer treatment of patients in financially sensitive regions. With every 10,000 rupees, we can cover the cost of one chemotherapy cycle for a patient.
