Christmas is around the corner and the New Year is not far behind! What better way than to help a child? A child filled with hopes and aspirations. Help us ease the financial burden of 8 year old Rahul Thapa for he has the potential to grow into a successful individual some day, provided he receives a good education.
Having spent a considerable amount of time in his presence, I know this to be true.
While his parents, Pintu and Munni Thapa work multiple jobs to make ends meet, they are also employed in some capacity at our residence because of which we are aware of the their financial challenges to clear their son's hefty school fees.
Rahul studies at Gnana Bindu Vidyalaya, Bengaluru in the 2nd standard. When schools reopened, parents were required to pay the first standard school fees in order to enroll their child to the second grade. Expenses towards school uniforms are over and above this along with additional expenses that are not covered as part of the fees.
The first standard fees is INR 17,500 and for the second grade the fees is INR 27,500 which amounts to INR 45,000. Munni paid an advance of INR 10,000 (in cash) but there is a balance of INR 35,000 to clear. The parents are given the option to pay in installments. But given that they work in the capacity of housekeeping (Munni) and odd jobs, sweeping etc. (Pintu) this is a huge amount for them. Place yourself in their shoes, and imagine what it would be like to spend close to half a lakh towards a child's second standard education, plus rent, food and other expenses.
Hence, we would like to ease their financial burden. We would like to start off by raising INR 24,000.
Prior to this initiative, we have successfully raised funds to help clear Pruthvi H and Diya Newar's pending school fees. We provide detailed updates, with necessary snapshots and required documentation as and when we make progress. This is to ensure clear communication is shared with our well-wishers.
