It is a well-known fact that farmers' suicides is one of the biggest problems faced by Maharashtra. Two of the most affected areas are Marathwada & Vidarbha. The Covid-19 pandemic has just worsened the situation.

So we at Shivar Foundation, have collaborated with Parivartan Trust, an institution dealing with mental health, and developed a dedicated helpline for farmers where all their problems will be resolved by a team of experts.

What is the motive of this helpline?

1. Providing farmers counseling in critical times through Shivar Helpline

2. Understanding their problems at ground root level & resolving it by using available resources

3. Educating and encouraging them to make self-help groups to help themselves as well as other farmers in need.

 4. Becoming a link between Farmer and Government service providers.

The first wave of the project has been practiced in Osmanabad district of Marathwada region and is now spreading in other areas of Maharashtra.

Our pattern of counseling is well acknowledged and supported by various reputed organizations such as Bayer Foundation, ABIL Foundation and Mariwala Health Initiative.

How can you help us?

NGOs like ours totally depend on donations and fundings by people who care.
Even a nominal donation from you can become a big blessing for us and based on our calculations, it takes just 1000 rupees to save one farmer life. So join hands with us as we take care of our farmer friends and contribute towards 'nation-building'!
