I, Puja Kumari aged 25, am a student of D.El. Ed course in The Oxford college, Vaishali, Bihar. Following the dominant tradition in our society I was married off by my family via arranged marriage system at the age of 21. I am currently fighting a case for divorce and justice against domestic violence with help from activists of AIPWA, AILAJ. Since I decided to fight back the situation, I have been financially and socially boycotted by both my birth and in-laws family.
I don't have any source of income and I am dependant on my family and friends for the smallest of my expenses. I cannot even afford the train/bus ticket costs to travel within the city. I am living with the help of social activists and loans from relatives.
I am determined to fight back the situation and stand up on my own feet to fight for justice.
I need financial assistance to complete my education.
Currently, my course fees is 50,000 rupees per year. This amount is pending for this year which is my final year and if I fail to pay the fees on time I shall have to discontinue my studies. I appeal to all my fellow fighters for gender justice to extend support so that I can complete my studies, get books and stationeries required and commute to college and examination center.
