Kargil (Ladakh) is well known for its long freezing winters extending from December to March forcing the people there in a natural lockdown every year. Everyone know about Kargil from the 3 Kargil Wars but very few are aware what those wars have done to the developmental pace in all spheres of life there especially Health and Education. rZamba is thus working consistently to improve learning opportunities and health of children, women and youth in Kargil since year 2015.
The Covid crisis have forced children miss on their schooling which was meant to reopen in March 2020 after the winter holidays and it's now 10 months (December 2019- October 2020) that the children are at home with very little or no access to learning in remote villages of Kargil Ladakh, with the majority of them with no cellular connectivity leave alone the internet. rZamba is providing learning opportunities to them on their doorstep since August 2020 through Learning Facilitators who engage kids in their locality and villages.
Your generosity will help us to continue this learning journey throughout the long harsh winters and the Covid crisis for the kids in this part of the Himalayas.
