    Priyanka

    from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

Priyanka paying the cost of someone's brutality with her innocence:
she would have been a normal 21-year-old this May , finished her Graduation by now, and would have been continuing her job as a Volunteer with the local government body in Visakhapatnam helping the needy and assisting the uneducated and underprivileged people with the government projects.
Disaster struck her life in the form of Srikanth, her neighbour a minor who was so obsessed with her, he was harassing her in the name of love repeatedly. Priyanka informed his parents, neighbours, and everyone around but of no use. December 2nd he found her alone in the house, attacked her with a knife, slit her throat barbarically, and caused other severe injuries. Priyanka fought for her life in intensive care at Kgh and Seven Hills hospital for 25 days and finally survived but with a condition Tracheal subglottic stenosis. She will require Cricotracheal Resection....Srikanth was arrested and in remand, where the case has not been brought up in court yet. Waiting for justice is pain and waiting for her recovery is hell.
For Priyanka to get her vocals back and to get back to normalcy with patches and scars, she needs vocal cord surgery at Mumbai prince Ally Khan hospital.  The local government officials supported her in the initial stages, and Mr. Vasupalli Ganesh local MLA helped the family. Initial checkups have been done with all the good Samaritan s charity and support, but right now for this surgery we are trying to raise an amount of 6 Lakhs..
Seeing Priyanka in this situation, struggling to eat, drink or sound is really unbearable.
No support is available either from friends or family members as most of them are lower middle class labourers , helping this poor soul to get back to heal will be considered more than a heartfelt gesture and a prayer.
