Prithivi, an affectionate, friendly, gentle natured, intelligent boy, full of life and enthusiasm was on his way to joining college to do higher studies in physics just a few months ago. But that road took an unexpected turn.
He contracted COVID-19 and recovered seemingly from it. But a few weeks later, we saw the first signs of deterioration of his right lung when he coughed up blood.

Over the next 45 gruelling days in Manipal Hospital Bangalore, he went through multiple forms of Post-COVID complications and treatment. Right from right lung removal, black fungus inside lungs, large intestine removal and ongoing incidents of bleeding and haematology issues to rapidly dropping platelet count, Prithivi is battling out all odds. And even amongst all of this, he is responding well to the current treatment and his lungs have started clearing up.

We have now reached this crucial juncture in Prithivi’s treatment, where we need all the help and support you can give. Requesting you to help our son Prithivi by donating to this fund raiser and keeping him in your prayers.
Prithivi has been on ECMO for the past 3 weeks and this is expected to continue for the coming 3-4 week, followed by a minimum of 1 month in the ICU.  The total expense for his treatment is expected to be over INR 3 Crores. We have exhausted our medical insurance already and have already spent INR 1.5 Crores. We are now at the verge of exhausting what is left in our life savings.

As parents, you can understand, all that matters to us is seeing the twinkle in our son’s eyes. His talking to us through writing on a piece of paper and the feel of his warm hands keeps us going every day.

This experience has humbled us and has reinstated our trust in humanity. We have had strangers pouring in with their support and blessings in many ways and means (of which we need every single one!).
