I recently read about thousands of prisoners across India being released on interim bails or paroles due to the corona virus outbreak. Mainly becuase prisoners in the current situation are the most vulnerable to COVID-19 compared to the public. The enclosed spaces are located side by side only which increases the danger of an outbreak in prisons. While the world is staying at home maintaining social distancing and basic hygiene, prisoners have no way of following social distancing.

To tackle this pressing issue of jails being potential infection hotspots, I need all of your help to donate reusable cloth masks and hand sanitizers to the Chittoor District Jail, Andhra Pradesh, India. All the money will be redirected to the sanitizer and mask manufacturers, whose products will then directly be donated to the jail. Once I support this prison I will distribute masks and hand sanitizers to other prisons in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. For complete clarity on what is being done with the money, photos and videos of prisoners and prison staff with the donated products will be shared.
