Dear readers,
I'm Pranil Mhaisgawali, 21 years old from Nagpur, Maharashtra. The #1 University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) has selected me for their Innovation & Leadership program among 90 other competitive entrepreneurs around the world, but, I can't afford the fee. Hence, I'm raising Rs 3,34,350 to complete my dream of studying & working at the best university.
This amount will be used for the admission fee, transaction fee, books/resources during the program.
My Background:
I come from Nagpur, Maharashtra. Father has a private job & mother is in a network marketing business which is heavily impacted after her vertebrae surgery in may & during the COVID era. I have always been a topper of the class in school & college & have won various Olympiads in Science & Mathematics.
I'm also a National Silver Medal holder in Abacus. I'm experimenting heavily with life, learning new things/jobs & trying to create a sustainable impact.
My interests include technology, Science, Moonshot strategies to help humanity grow. I also like playing Instruments like Tabla, Indian flute, Drums & watching series(Rick & Morty is my fav).
What is MIT?
MIT/ Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the #1 university in the world for Science, Technology & Design. It is situated in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the United States.
Mit has constantly given the world revolutionary researches & ideas that have changed the course of humanity. It was founded in 1861.
Notable alumni: Raghuram Rajan, Richard Feynman, Buzz Aldrin, etc.
MIT Innovation & Leadership Program:
You are the average of 5 people you be with. This is what the program is.
The program will have highly talented 90 entrepreneurs around the world.
We are going to be distributed in a team of 5 where we will create a full-blown business in a matter of 2 months. This is while we learn from the best professors/authors of MIT Sloan school about how to systematically form an innovative idea & judge its efficiency. I understand the fact that entrepreneurship can be done with trial & error, but there's definitely a process that requires years to learn & MIT will teach it to us in a matter of 10 weeks.
Main function will be on how to convert innovative ideas into sustainable businesses.
My Vision:
I wanted to be an entrepreneur since the time I have heard the word. Also, working with a few startups has opened my brains to a few moonshot ideas.
For this, my vision encapsulates certain ideas which will send humanity to great heights & I'm keen to work on them.
Disrupting Human Digital Interaction: We have gone through phase 1 of digitalization, done, but it's just an enabler for interaction, still inefficient as compared to the real-world ways. And to change it, it will not only require an application but a combination of software & hardware both. I want to focus on this. If it happens in India, it will disrupt the way we work, interact & entertain. Also, current opportunities will open doors for the poor, making the world more accessible to everyone.

These ideas & more will create a high net positive impact on the society & ensure its growth in the right direction. I feel Indians have the brains & power to bring these ideas to reality.
And for this same reason, it's necessary for me to complete my program at MIT where I'll be learning alongside the best of the talents & the best of the business people around the world.
It will make my dream come true & India a superpower.
Other exhausted options for raising funds:
I have used my savings for the resources required for the camp.
My parents have no financial power to support me on this journey as they already have loans & due to mom's medical bills.
I mailed MIT to sought a scholarship but haven't heard from them.
I tried for loans but, did not fit their criteria because the program is 3months long.
So, to get to MIT, the last resort that I'm left with is the support from all you Donors. The deadline to submit the fees is 28th August 2021.
