Project Update : Providing support in the form of dry rations and household items to the poor, underprivileged and Frontline workers

After supporting the migrants, distressed people last year during covid, we are aiming at Providing support in the form of dry rations to the poor and underprivileged and Frontline workers

For What the funds will be used:

  • Providing Dry rations
  • Providing few household daily essentials

Last year :Project Feed the Needy

Initially the intiative was to provide dry ration kits as well as food packets for daily wage workers, migrant population, slum dwellers, pourakarmikas in few areas in Bangalore to support them in times of the lockdown and COVID -19. The aim was to provide support to 1000 families or workers if possible who have lost their means of livelihood. The endeavour is also to provide cooked meals to the migrant workers during the period of the lockdown.

We are overwhelmed by all your support towards the poor and migrant workers in the midst of the COVID -19 crisis. We have been able to reach out to more than 400 plus poor families, migrant population, Construction labourers so far through this project. There are still huge populations of migrants who are living on the fringe of starvation in the city, often barely surviving on donated dry rations. Many of them have been undertaking treacherous journeys on foot with the lockdown being eased and some of them are staying back hoping for some respite either in terms of food or through sponsored travel.

We intend to continue our endeavour of serving the migrants and also ensure that the migrants reach their hometowns at the earliest through sponsored journeys if possible.

We want to reach as many migrants as we can, as soon as we can so that their sufferings are reduced.
