Coming from a middle-class family, her humble beginnings have taught her to manage with the most meagre things possible. This helped her to go on 25+ high altitude treks in the country through savings, jugaads and what not, to gain experience in mountaineering. Amongst many expeditions that she has been a part of- the lastest one she took - Mt. Ama Dablam - cost 6 Lacs out of her pockets, for which she's still repaying the loans. Yet undeterred, her next big dream is to scale the highest mountain in the world - Mt Everest. She's training hard physically and mentally to overcome the difficulties involved in climbing Everest but the persistent struggle remains to be the expedition amount. Help her raise the funds for the climb so she can fulfil three of her goals mentioned below.
1. Women Doing The Impossible
No matter where you hail from, the taunts of people about how a woman over 25 should be married and well-settled at home never end. With her climb, Prakriti aims to prove that it's never too late to start and that settling doesn't have to mean living in houses, it can mean being out in the wilderness, achieving the unachievable. Apart from the social constraints, she aspires to prove that physical and mental constraints can be overcome as well if you have the passion to achieve a goal. She believes in limiting her carbon footprints and co-existing with nature and animals, with which she aims to promote an amicable relation with mother earth too.
2. For The Love Of Animals - Being A Vegan
Being a vegan not only limits cruelty on animals for our commercial and materialistic gains, but it also promotes compassion and co-existence with the other species that occupy this earth. There's a word around that Vegans don't get enough proteins and the right nutrients for sustenance but this is true only when you lack awareness of the substitutes. Prakriti has been a Vegan for the last 3 years and is leading a healthy, enriched life - thanks to all the correct nutritious foods she is consuming. With her ascent, she wants to carry the message forward that our lifestyle can be shaped around ways that are most beneficial to nature - without affecting our health - for it has plenty of options and substitutes to offer.
3. Limiting Carbon Footprints
We're all familiar with the harm we're causing across the globe with the continuous emission of extreme levels of pollution. While Prakriti understands we can't go back to primitive ways to save the earth, she believes each one of us can try to limit our personal carbon footprints which might do wonders on the climate and environment. Her ascent would carry the same message - to try and limit the carbon footprint as much as possible. Doing your easy bits to save earth one step & one person at a time.
Achieving these goals requires sheer dedication, passion, hard work, a stroke of luck and, inevitably, money. She'll put in all her efforts and will to pull this feat. Help her in this journey by sharing your bit if you're inspired by adventure and the zeal to do more for the earth.
