Hemophilia Federation
Hemophilia Nashik Chapter started working in March 2,000 with 30 patients. Today we have 320 hemophilics in our chapter Hemophilia is a hereditary bleeding disorder where blood does not clot due to deficiency of clotting factor VIII or IX. There are repeated bleeds in joints and muscles resulting in progressive crippling if not treated promptly. Bleeding in vital organs like the brain may be fatal.
Hemophilia is a rare disorder in which your blood doesn't clot normally because it lacks sufficient blood-clotting proteins (clotting factors). If you have hemophilia, you may bleed for a longer time after an injury than you would if your blood clotted normally. Small cuts usually aren't much of a problem
Haemophilia (also spelled hemophilia) is a mostly inherited genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to make blood clots, a process needed to stop bleeding. This results in people bleeding for a longer time after an injury, easy bruising, and an increased risk of bleeding inside joints or the brain. Those with a mild case of the disease may have symptoms only after an accident or during surgery. Bleeding into a joint can result in permanent damage while bleeding in the brain can result in long-term headaches, seizures, or a decreased level of consciousness.
