We lost our 38 year old friend and brother-in-law, Kapil, on June 18th, after a bitter 57 day battle in the hospital, first with Covid 19 and then with complications arising out of it - severe lung damage and sepsis. While his wife and daughter managed to defeat the virus, he was admitted to Covid ICU and then moved to Respiratory ICU to treat his damaged lungs. On the advice of doctors, he was put on the best possible treatment of ECMO, akin to an artificial lung and which costs around Rs 1.5 - 2 lakhs (USD 2500 approx) per day, for 42 days of his hospital stay. While this drained the family completely of the savings and had to resort to borrowings, money was not the consideration then, the young 38 year old man's life was. Sadly, despite all the efforts we couldn't save him.

He leaves behind a 35-year-old wife and a 5 year old daughter and our hearts go out to them. It is a long and lonely journey ahead, despite complete family support. The 5 year old girl already has lofty ambitions and we want to ensure she fulfils every one of them, like what her dad would have done for her.

It is in this regard that we seek your help to create a corpus of INR Rs 1 crore ( USD 135,000) , which is critical to restart financially and to take care of the long term financial goals and education of the girl.
