As you know, our beloved India is experiencing one of the worst human tragedies related to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the increasing death tolls and people getting critically ill, the surge in a pandemic is displacing people and their livelihoods. A large section of people cannot afford proper health care, hospital bills - and in many instances, people are even struggling to access a single meal.
I'm starting this fundraising to specifically support people in Kondhwa. Kondhwa is located in South-east Pune in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra is one of the worst-hit Indian states with an estimated rate of 4.6 million Covid cases. The Kondhwa region consists of a large number of poor migrant and local daily wage workers and transgenders who are struggling access healthcare, medicine, and food. The funds raised from this campaign will be utilized to support the local community in Kondhwa.
